And Israel won a complete victory.
But here's the twist, crew. Deborah had prophesied that the honor of victory would go to a woman—not to Barak. And it did. A woman named Jael saw Sisera running from the battle. She invited him into her tent. And while he slept, she drove a tent peg through his head. She killed the commander of the entire Canaanite army. Two women. Two acts of courage. Job was the wealthiest man in the land of Uz. He had seven sons, three daughters, thousands of animals, and servants. He was righteous, blameless, and loved God. But Satan challenged God: "Job only loves you because you've blessed him. Take it all away, and he'll curse you."
So God allowed Job to be tested. In one day, Job lost everything. Raiders stole his livestock. Fire destroyed his sheep. A windstorm killed all ten of his children. Then painful sores covered his body from head to foot. Even his wife told him to curse God and die.
But Job refused. He tore his robe, shaved his head, and fell to the ground in worship. He said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."

Job's friends blamed him. They said he must have sinned. But Job held firm. He didn't understand why he was suffering, but he refused to curse God. Finally, God spoke to Job out of a storm. God didn't explain why Job suffered. Instead, God reminded Job who He is—the Creator, the Almighty, the One who holds all things together.

Job didn't get answers. But he got something better. He got God. And then God restored Job. He gave him twice as much as he had before. Ten more children. Flocks and herds beyond measure. Job lived 140 more years and saw four generations of his family.

That's the lesson for you, crew. God doesn't owe us comfort. God doesn't owe us wealth. God doesn't owe us easy lives. God is God. And He is worthy of praise whether we're blessed or suffering. When life gets hard, when you lose something, when you don't understand—worship anyway. Praise anyway. Trust anyway. Because God is faithful even when life isn't fair.

But the king held out his golden scepter, and she lived.

She pointed directly at Haman and told the king what he'd done. The king was furious. He realized he'd been deceived. He ordered Haman executed and reversed the order to kill the Jews. Esther's people were saved.
But here's what the Captain wants you to understand: Esther didn't have superpowers. She didn't have an army. She had courage. And courage changed everything. She chose truth over silence. She chose to speak up even when she was terrified. And because she did, thousands of people lived.
